India accounts for the largest number of road related deaths in the world. As many as
1.5 lakh people die and over 3 lakh get injured every year in India in road accidents. The
Indian Tyre Industry, through its apex Industry body Automotive Tyre Manufacturers?
Association (ATMA) and its technical wing, Indian Tyre Technical Advisory Committee
(ITTAC), has taken up the initiative to sensitize motorists on aspects related to tyre
maintenance and safety.
