AWARDS
1. Proficiency Awards
Awarded at the end of the fourth year to the students who have secured the maximum marks in each branch, based on the total marks secured till the seventh semester. The award carries a cash prize and a proficiency certificate.
2. Dean's Honours
Awarded to the top four students of each branch other than the one given Proficiency Award based on the aggregate marks secured in first attempt till the previous semester examinations. Selected students will receive a merit certificate, will be issued three more books from the library, and can have 100 pages printed free of cost from the Central Computing Facility. They will also be awarded with a cash prize sponsored by the alumni.
3. Special Awards for Outstanding Performers
Special Awards, consisting of Certificate and Cash Prize, are given to students who perform outstandingly well in a semester, and score A+ or O in all subjects in the semester-end examinations.
4. Merit Award in Mathematics
Awarded to students who get either A+ or O grade in all core Mathematics courses (MA 101, MA 102, MA 201, MA 202/204) offered in the first four semesters. Only the marks in the first attempt will be considered for the award. Cash prizes will be awarded to the meritorious students.
5. Merit Award in Humanities
Awarded to students who get either A+ or O grade in all the three Humanities courses viz. Business Economics, Life Skills and Principles of Management. Only the marks in the first attempt will be considered for the award. Cash prizes will be awarded to the meritorious students.
6. Perfect Attendance Award
Awarded to all students who secure 100% attendance in each semester. Selected students will receive merit certificate, will be issued three more books from the library, and can have 100 pages printed free of cost from the Central Computing Facility.
7. Prof. Dr. Rajan V.K. Pillai Memorial Award
This award is instituted in memory of the former Professor and Head, DCS, late Prof. Dr Rajan V.K. Pillai, who was instrumental in establishing and developing the department and its facilities, and introducing new courses and electives. It is awarded to either a B.Tech. or an M.Tech. student on the basis of his/her outstanding academic/ research performance, and presented on the Course Completion Day.
8. Ms. Mary John Memorial Endowment Award
This award is instituted by the Department of Information Technology, in memory of the late Ms. Mary John, former Assistant Professor from the Department. It is a testament to her unmatched dedication and service to the student community of Information Technology. The award, consisting of a cash prize and a certificate, is presented on course completion day to the highest CGPA holder of the Department of Information Technology.
9.Award for GATE Top Scorer
This award has been instituted by Prof. M. Mahadevan, former Principal, RSET, in memory of his parents, the late Sri. T. A. Mahadevan Pillai & Smt. K.N Seetha, and is awarded to the top scorer in the GATE examination. It is presented on the Course Completion Day.
Scholarships
The toppers in the merit list for admission will be given scholarships as decided by the management. The scholarships will continue in the subsequent years provided the students maintain good conduct and the prescribed SGPA in the semester-end examinations. Students belonging to economically weaker sections, who secure admission based on the allotment by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations, will be granted 100% fee concession, provided they possess BPL card or other documentary evidence. The number of scholarships is limited to ten.
