Rev. Dr. Jaison Paul Mulerikkal CMI

Dr Jaison Paul Mulerikkal CMI is a member of Sacred Heart Province, Kochi of CMI congregation. He received his PhD in High Performance Scientific Computing from the Australian National University. He has acquired his Masters in Information Systems from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. He worked as a computational scientist at New Zealand's eScience Infrastructure at the University of Auckland. He joined Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology (RSET) as a teaching faculty in 2004, and currently a designated Professor in IT. He served as the Principal of Jyothi Engineering College, Cheruthuruthi, Thrissur for three years from 2017 to 2020. He also served as the Vice Principal of RSET from 2020 to 2024.

He is a Program Evaluator for National Board of Accreditation and an approved PhD guide at many universities. He is recognised as a Senior Member of IEEE & IEEE ITSS.

He has attended four-weeks International Summer School on High Performance Computing and Applications at Tinhe Supercomputing Facility, National University of Defence Technology, Changsha, China and four weeks on-site training at Platform Computing (later acquired by IBM), Toronto, Canada on Platform Symphony SOA Middleware suite. He has visited more than 100 major cities in 28 countries.

He has received funded projects worth around Rs. 12.5 million INR and his research infrastructure initiatives are worth about Rs. 33.6 million INR. He is the founding director of Śūnya Labs, a centre of excellence in advanced computing and communications at RSET.

  •   He has led a research project that developed a data analytical platform - JP-DAP - for Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) with the help of financial assistance from the Department of Science and Technology, India. JP-DAP can be customised to use for any other transportation system. The second phase of this project is now underway.
  •   Currently he leads a research cum consultancy project, titled “Idukki Dam Break Flood Mapping and Marking of Evacuation Points Downstream” for the Kerala State Water Resource Department.
  •   He is also a Co-PI of a research project titled, “A RISC V based hardware accelerator for anomaly detection in autonomous security systems” by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) under Chips to Startup (C2S) Programme.

He has nearly 30 research papers to his credit, in national and international journals and conference proceedings, most with SCIE and SCOPUS indexing, and an h-index and i 10-index of 10. He has also published an Indian Patent titled “A Novel Architecture for Distributed Content Delivery Network Application”.

He has guided over 15 B Tech/M Tech projects and currently guiding/guided 6 PhD projects.

He writes extensively in the press and frequently delivers tech talks in national as well as international events. His international invited talks include:
