The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at RSET was established in the year 2004. It offers B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and M.Tech in Industrial Drives & Control. The Department is also an approved centre of research under the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) since 2016.
The intake for the undergraduate (B.Tech.) programme is 60. The postgraduate Programme was started in the year 2010, with a sanctioned strength of 12. The department has a rich tradition of imparting high-quality teaching, developing the capability to apply knowledge of Electrical Engineering to work efficiently in multidisciplinary teams.
The department offers science-based engineering curriculum in order to develop the students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences. The department also focuses to inculcate in students, a professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skill, teamwork and multidisciplinary approach thereby preparing students for a successful career in Industry, research and academics to meet the needs of growing technology.
The department maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The department is well supported by qualified and dedicated faculty and the technical supporting staff is unique in its own way. There are 15 staff members in the department with specialization in Control and Instrumentation, Electrical Machines, Power Systems and Embedded systems. There are six lab instructors too to guide the students in laboratory.
We have state of the art lab facilities to support our academic programs and research which enable the students to have hands on experience individually. The department is equipped with full fledged laboratories such as Electrical Machines Lab, Power Electronics lab, Measurements and control Lab, Power System Lab, Simulation Lab and Electrical Workshop. The department Association ELUXTRA helps the students to organize conferences, seminars, short-term programs, symposia and workshops. As a part of the curriculum, Industrial Visits are also arranged for students and we associate with professional bodies like IEEE, SEEM and ISTE.
The Staff Advisors identify slow learners and give them mentoring to enable them to cope with the other peers in the respective class. Our Alumni are placed in reputed companies like ALSTOM, KALKITECH, Hitachi Energy, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Bosch, Tata ELXSI etc. . Our students have proved their talents in university fest and won prizes for the institution and making our institution to head among others.
