The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) is a professional body devoted to the cause of promotion and advancement of welding science and technology in India.The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW-India) was incorporated on the 22nd April, 1966 at Calcutta to foster the development of welding science, technology and engineering in India and since then has been serving the cause of the welding industry through its 13 branches / chapters throughout India. The institute is a non-profit making organisation registered under Section 25 of the Company's Act 1956 and is also registered under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act 1961, as an Institution for charitable purpose.
With a mission to be the Premier Professional Institute in India for the advancement of Welding Science & Technology and related activities, IIW-India has been continuously developing itself for achievement of the following objectives.
RSETassociation with IIW India started with the membership of 7 faculty members from Mechanical Engineering Department on 3rd January 2015. An MOU was signed between RSET and IIW India on 9th October 2015 which facilitates the sharing of facilities and expertise for improving the capabilities for advanced education and research in Welding technology & related fields of activities. It will help the students to gain knowledge and get expert guidance through various activities like seminars, workshops and technical conferences which will be organised by IIW. It will also help the institution to set up world-class laboratories with the help of experts in the respective fields.

National Weld Meet: Kochi 2015
Cmde. K. Subramaniam,C&MD,Cochin Shipyard Limited inaugurated National Weld Meet: Kochi 2015 at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology, Kakkanad on 9th October 2015. It was attended by DME Faculty, few students from all semesters of mechanical department and IIW members from other colleges and industries.
One day seminar on GENERATION NEXT: ADVANCEMENT IN METAL JOINING was conducted as part of it. Distinguished speakers included Prof. Dr. S. Sundaresan, Formerly Professor IIT, Madras,Dr. Shaju K.
