On November 1, 2024, in celebration of Kerala Piravi Day, GenSys, the CSBS association, organized an Ideathon for first-year students under the theme "Innovating for Kerala: Sustainable Solutions at the Intersection of Heritage, Technology, and Business." A team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering—comprising Chris Laynad (S1 CS B), Edwin Biju (S1 CS B), Georgie Jacob (S1 CS B), and Sana Shihab (S1 CS D)—secured first place for their innovative proposal, "Refurbishing KURTC for Tourism, Culture, and Business." Their concept included features like sleeping pods, a theatre on wheels, a KURTC expo, and a KURTC cultural museum, demonstrating a creative fusion of modern technology with Kerala's rich heritage
A team, consisting of Geevarghese Regi from S5 CS B, Milee B Kokkatt from S3 CS C, Kevin Johns Jolly from S5 CS B, and Karthika Suresh Menon from S5 CS B presented their innovative project titled "Vitalis" in the Buildathon event, held at Christ College of Engineering, Irinjalakuda, on 27-28 September 2024. Their creative idea and excellent execution earned them the 2nd prize in the competition, showcasing their skills and teamwork.
The Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities conducted Digital Wall Magazine Competition for the 2023 B.Tech students. The team from S3 CSE Alpha secured the First Position in the offline mode.

A team from RSET participated in the Debate Competition "Big Fight Season 7" held on October 16th, 2024, at Christ College of Engineering. Noahan Zachariah Pradeep of S3 CS C secured Best Speaker award.
Raphael Tony, Reuben Dinny, Neha Bimal, and Shreya Baburaj from S8 CSE Gamma, got special mention for sustainability and the audience choice award in the SIGHT technical expo organized by UST with the goal of identifying innovative college projects from South India.

Mr. Alan Joseph of 2021-2025 CSE A batch won 1st place in Python Programming tier 1 competition held at Muthoot institute of Technology and Science on 26th November 2023 in which many other teams from all over Kerala participated. He will be representing RSET at tier 3 competitions which will be a southern section student’s competition along with his team members (Jovan George of S5 AIDS and Pranav K of S5 ECE).
