The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology (RSET) was established in alignment with the guidelines set by the Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Government of India, during the academic year 2020-21. The primary aim of IIC is to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students and faculty, while promoting innovative thinking, design thinking, and critical thinking abilities. By offering a supportive platform, IIC enables students to not only showcase their creative ideas but also transform them into tangible products and services that address real-world challenges and benefit society at large. The council works towards equipping students with the necessary skills and resources to succeed in the fast-evolving world of technology and entrepreneurship.
Vision: To evolve as a support system within the institution that aids in creating innovative ideas of social relevance, thereby introducing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship which will strengthen our education system and also promote national economic and social growth.
Mission: To develop and strengthen an ecosystem that supports the students and faculty to innovate and prototype their potential ideas with industrial standards and support from Government, industry and reputed academic institutions around the world.
IIC RSET actively organizes a variety of events and initiatives throughout the year to cultivate a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship on campus. These events include hackathons, ideation workshops, start-up bootcamps, design-thinking sessions, and guest lectures by industry experts and successful entrepreneurs. Additionally, the council facilitates competitions like pitch contests, where students can present their innovative business ideas to a panel of experts. Through these events, students not only gain valuable insights and mentorship but also have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, potential investors, and other like-minded innovators. The leadership of dedicated faculty members and enthusiastic student representatives ensures the smooth functioning of IIC, making it an impactful platform for nurturing young innovators at RSET.
