Dr. Vinod Kumar P B joined RSET on 3^rd September 2001. Currently, he is a Professor in Mathematics and Dean of Post Graduate Studies. He completed his M. Sc, M. Phil and PhD in Mathematics from Cochin University of Science & Technology. He was awarded PhD in 2001 for his thesis work entitled On Chaos and Fractals in General Topological Spaces under the supervision of Prof. T. Thrivikraman. He has 47 research publications in various international journals. He has visited many institutions in India and abroad for invited talks in conferences, workshops and faculty development programmes. Some of the foreign institutions he visited are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA; Michigan State University, USA; Western Michigan University, USA; Kyoto University, Japan; Beijing Normal University, China; Australian National University, Australia and Osaka University, Japan. He is a regular invited speaker for AICTE/UGC refresher courses. He is an approved research guide of A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala and Christ University, Bangalore. One research scholar has completed PhD under his guidance and 8 research scholars are pursuing PhD under his guidance. He has competed 3 research projects with funding from UGC, NBHM and DST. There are three ongoing research projects as well, funded by NBHM, DST and NRB (DRDO). In 2018, Centre for Topology and Applications was established at RSET under his initiative. The centre is funded by NBHM and DST. He is a member of Indian Mathematical Society, Kerala Mathematical Association, Ramanujan Mathematical Society, American Mathematical Society, London Mathematical Society, Institute of Mathematics and Applications, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Association of America and International Association of Engineers. His research interests include Topological Dynamics, Topological Data Analysis, Fractal Geometry, Chaos Theory, Signal Processing and Information Theory.
