AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS (ASME) RSET STUDENT SECTION
Founded in 1880, ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development across all engineering disciplines. It also champions the crucial role of engineers in society. ASME achieves this through the establishment of codes and standards, publishing initiatives, conferences, continuous education, and professional development programs, all of which form the bedrock for advancing technical knowledge and ensuring a safer world. ASME RSET, the student section of ASME at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology, has been instrumental in shaping the professional identities of students. It offers invaluable engagement opportunities through a wide spectrum of activities, resources, competitions, workshops, and more.
The previous academic year marked a significant milestone for ASME RSET. The section earned the prestigious Most Significant Membership Growth Award, along with a commendable cash prize. It witnessed a robust and successful participation in the ASME EFX which is a flagship event . ASME RSET fielded two teams in the IAM3D (Innovative Additive Manufacturing 3D Challenge) and HPVC (Human Powered Vehicle Challenge), both of which delivered formidable performances their respective competitions.Furthermore, Alan Joji from S8 ME secured two individual prizes in various technical competitions, earning well-deserved prize money awards .It was undeniably a year marked by achievements, extensive learning, and personal development, a momentum ASME RSET is eager to carry into the upcoming academic year along with the new executive committee for the year 2023-24.
