Associate Professor & HoD
DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Dr. Mathew Joseph graduated in Mechanical Engineering from St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai in 2006 and completed M. Tech in Thermal and Fluids Engineering from IIT Bombay in 2011. He has worked with Amal Jyothi College of Engineering Kanjirapally (2006-2014) and Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology Peermade (2014-2017), in various capacities. Thereafter, in July 2017, he joined School of Materials Science and Engineering (SMSE) at National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut), as full-time research scholar with MHRD fellowship to pursue his doctoral studies. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. V. Sajith (Head, SMSE), Dr. Mathew Joseph successfully defended his PhD Thesis "Enhanced Phase Change Materials based Cooling Systems for Thermal Management of Electronics" in September 2020. Dr. Mathew’s major areas of research interest include experimental heat transfer, synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials, application of nanomaterials in thermal systems and thermal management using enhanced phase change materials (PCMs).
